Finland and arms trade

Peace Union of Finland is a active member of several international networks such as Control Arms, International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) and the European Network Against Arms Trade (ENAAT).

Finland has signed and ratified the Arms Trade Treaty, a globally binding treaty to regulate the conventional arms trade. It has been an active supporter of the treaty. Finland is an EU member state and bound also by the EU regulations and its own national legislation.

In 2015, the value of Finnish military material exports was 99 %. Significant importers of Finnish military material in 2015 include Saudi Arabia, South Africa and United States. Finland also exported ammunitions to Turkey and sniper rifles to Turkmenistan.
