The Peace Union of Finland is an umbrella organisation for over ten Finnish peace organisations, from conscientious objector to the Christian peace movement. A private person can become a supporting member of the Peace Union.
The Peace Union is an active member of the International Peace Bureau, which is the oldest peace organisation. The Peace Union follows a number of arms control issues and does advocasy and campaigning work as part of several international networks, such as the Cluster Munition Coalition, The International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), Abolition 2000 (on nuclear weapon issues), the Control Arms campaign, The International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) and the European Network Against Arms Trade (ENAAT). Since 1998, the Peace Union has offered a Peace School program. The Peace School is for schools and student groups and uses a drama method to educate on peace issues. The East Timor President and Nobel laureate José Ramos-Horta has been the "protector" of Peace School.
